Bea Bakshi
Dr Bhavagaya Bakshi MBBS BSc (Hons) MRCGP is a General Practitioner, Co-Founder and CEO of C the Signs: an award-winning platform that uses artificial intelligence to identify patients at risk of cancer at the earliest and most survivable stage of the disease. C the Signs is currently being used in the NHS and is revolutionising early cancer detection.
Bhavagaya studied Medicine at King's College London, and undertook a Bachelors in Management at Imperial College London. She has worked as a General Practitioner for over 10 years and served as the Deputy IT Lead for the British Medical Association, leading on the digital transformation of primary care, working with NHS Digital, NHS England and the Royal College of General Practitioners. She co-wrote the first Dynamic Purchasing System framework for the NHS which outlined the governance and regulation needed to ensure the safety and efficacy of digital health systems used by patients. In 2017 Bhavagaya co-founded C the Signs after losing a patient to late stage cancer, since then she has dedicated herself to a single purpose to reimagine a future where every patient survives cancer. With technology being the 4th industrial revolution, she is a firm believer in improving representation across STEM, and has worked with the WISE Campaign and with Amazon to improve access and parity in STEM careers for women. In her spare time she teaches healthcare entrepreneurship to medical students and is an Obama Leader for the inaugural Obama Foundation Leaders: Europe Programme.
