Brijesh Roy
Brijesh Roy is Seed Investment Manager at Imperial College London, building the startup investment ecosystem at Imperial College after more than a decade in research, commercialisation and investment roles across the university spinout ecosystem. Previously he was an Investment Manager with a focus on university spinouts across the Midlands region. Prior to joining Mercia Technologies Plc where he led 15 investments into 11 companies, Brijesh worked at Oxford University Innovation as a Technology Transfer Manager, managing a diverse portfolio of early stage biotech, medtech and software technologies from Oxford University. Over five years, he filed numerous patents, negotiated dozens of intellectual property licensing deals and also raised £12m to create gene therapy company Nightstarx Ltd, the largest venture capital investment ever made to a new university spinout in Europe at that time. Brijesh also worked as an Associate Strategy Consultant at L.E.K Consulting and interned as a Healthcare Analyst at hedge fund Millennium Partners. He holds a Ph.D in Biochemistry from University College London, and an MBiochem in Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry from the University of Oxford.
