Charlene Chen is COO at Lantum, a digital staffing and scheduling management platform for NHS providers, designed by doctors and rota managers. Prior to joining Lantum, she was Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer at AZA (formerly BitPesa), a B2B currency trading platform operating across Africa, Europe and the Middle East. Charlene is also Founder of COOhort, a global community of startup/scaleup COOs, and Co-Founder at Operations Nation, a digital platform of content and resources for operations leaders.

Charlene has over 15 years of private sector and social sector experience working with a variety of organizations ranging from startup/scaleups to international non-profits to Fortune 500 companies. She began her career as an IT consultant at Deloitte Consulting, but during business school made a career shift to focus on social entrepreneurship and ICTD (Information and Communication Technologies for Development) in sub-Saharan Africa. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science & Psychology from Duke University and an MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.
