Devika Wood

Co-Founder - Vida Care

Devika Wood is the Co-founder and Chief Medical Officer of Vida, a home care provider that leverages smart technology to deliver outstanding client-centred care and has secured approval from the Care Quality Commission. At the age of ten, Devika cared for her grandmother who lived with dementia and epilepsy and who, over twelve years, received over 150 different carers, sent to her home by social services. Having experienced poor care first hand, Devika has made it her personal mission to improve the care industry by adopting a clinical approach to care and empowering our carers and clients. After leaving school at 18 to work for Google and then moving on to study human biology at King’s College London, Devika gained a post as a breast cancer research scientist at Imperial College London while completing a Master’s degree in Public Health. Stints at health businesses Babylon and Healthcare Australia followed, paving the way for Vida Care which was launched in 2016 and has raised £2.5 million in backing, led by boutique investment firm Hambro Perks.
