Dr Fatemeh Ameri is the CEO and founder of Precious MD, a cutting-edge MedTech company that leverages the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to analyse medical images. With a PhD in Business and a background as an academic and lecturer, Fatemeh founded PreciousMD with the aim of developing a non-invasive, real-time, cost-effective, and accurate diagnostic tool for lung cancer patients. Lung cancer causes 2.1 million new cases and 1.8 million deaths annually worldwide, with over 46,500 people in the UK diagnosed and just an 8% survival rate. It’s known that targeted therapy could improve long term survival rates for patients with mutated EGFR-genes.  Fatemeh holds a Master's degree in Marketing and Ecommerce from Luleå University of Technology and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Business, Management & Marketing from Alliance Manchester Business School, University of Manchester. On graduation, she became a lecturer (assistant professor) in Marketing in Manchester Business School. Her research was focused on business models of online health service providers, online health information and commercialization of biomedical technologies.  After 4 years in academia, she decided to leverage her skills, experience and knowledge in healthcare area to pursue my aspirations in entrepreneurship and moved to Cambridge to set up Precious MD which is currently focussed on developing of an image-based diagnostic tool for prediction of response to EGFR- inhibiting drugs. She was awarded a £50,000 grant to scale the  businesses by Innovate UK in its Women in Innovation 2022/2023 programme.
