Furqan Alamgir is a visionary entrepreneur and business leader, widely recognised as the CEO of Connexin, a leading technology company specialising in smart city solutions and IoT (Internet of Things) connectivity. With his relentless passion for innovation and commitment to transforming cities into sustainable, connected environments, Furqan has established himself as a prominent figure in the field of smart infrastructure.

Recently named as one of the Top 100 Fastest Growing Tech Companies at the Northern Tech Awards, Connexin was founded in 2006 whilst Furqan studied medicine at Imperial College, London, where he attained an MBBS and BSc Hons in Cardiovascular Sciences. Connexin has raised a total of £90.1 million in funding over 3 rounds. Their latest funding of £80 million was raised on Sep 10, 2020, led by Patrizia (formerly Whitehelm Capital).

Beyond his role at Connexin, Furqan actively contributes to the tech and business communities, sharing his expertise and insights as a thought leader and public speaker. He is passionate about promoting the adoption of sustainable technologies and empowering cities to become more efficient, resilient, and environmentally friendly.

Furqan has given talks and presentations to entrepreneurs across the country including University of Oxford and The London School of Economics. He has also been appointed as an ambassador to the Goldman Sachs High Growth Business Development Program in association with the Said Business School & University of Oxford and sits on the board of FEO (For Entrepreneurs Only), an independent peer group of over 200 like-minded entrepreneurs, with its members collectively turning over more than £4bn and employing over 25,000 people.
