Gi Fernando
Gi Fernando MBE is an engineer, social impact entrepreneur and investor, who founded Freeformers in 2012 having previously built successful technology businesses, including Techlightenment (sold to Experian Plc). Freeformers is the digital growth partner to FTSE 100 organisations, such as Barclays, Sky, Virgin, Vodafone, Tesco, Bloomberg, SEGA, BBC, Department of Education and News UK, to create the future workforce. It does this through a combination of training and consultancy services based around a blended learning programme. Freeformers has raised a total of £1.2M via Impact Ventures UK.
The father-of-three received an MBE in the New Year Honours 2017 for services to the Digital Economy. A thought-leader on the Future of Work, Behavioural Change and the impact of Automation and AI on employment and society, Gi holds positions on various boards including Apps for Good, Duke of York IDEA and Craft.co. He also invests in innovative startups such as Technology Will Save Us, BookingBug, Citymapper and Playmob. In September 2017, Gi was named Entrepreneur of the Year at the Asian Achievers Awards.
