Jamie Qiu
Jamie is a business and innovation leader with over 14 years of international experience as a founder, consultant and intrapreneur. He is the Managing Director and Founder of Studio Zao, an innovation consulting firm specialised in helping organisations increase the productivity and ROI of innovation investments. His expertise spans innovation strategy and management, intrapreneurial capability development, designing and implementing innovation/venture models, and facilitating rapid prototyping and piloting of emerging technologies. He has also mentored and advised 100+ startups and entrepreneurs on both the strategic development of their venture as well as the personal experiences of being a founder.
Previously, he founded and directed the first EY startup accelerator, the EY Startup Challenge. He led the strategic development of the UK accelerator, and the direction of innovation partnerships in the UK. After leaving in 2017, he went on to become the London Ambassador for CityAI, a global network of 40+ cities across 6 continents that work together to explore the applications of AI technologies. He then launched one of the inaugural FinTech startup accelerators of the MENA region in Dubai, with Startupbootcamp, the Dubai International Financial Centre, HSBC, Visa and regional banks, investing in and accelerating FinTech startups focusing on financial inclusion, international remittance, KYC/AML, fraud prevention and payments. Prior to joining EY, Jamie founded Youny, an EdTech platform for academic peer-tutoring between university students, which won an UnLtd Award in 2011. Jamie holds a BSc in Philosophy & Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
