Javid Khan is the Founder of Holoxica Ltd, a high-tech company working on holographic 3D visualisation including digital holograms and holographic video displays. The digital holograms are aimed at high-end professional applications including medical imaging, scientific analysis, engineering and architecture. Designs range from biochemical molecular images and medical imagery to concept cars and complex offshore machines. Holoxica has also pioneered a patented dynamically changeable holographic display. He set up Holoxica in 2009 to commercialize the results of his doctorate in Photonics Engineering on Holographic 3D displays at Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh, United Kingdom. Javid is an expert assessor for the UK government’s R&D programs and was formerly a Scientific Officer at the European Commission. During his eleven years in that role, he was tasked with defining research programs and running international high tech projects and was responsible for approximately forty RD projects with a total value of over 100 million euros. Before that, Javid was responsible for research and advanced product development in professional and consumer electronics at Philips.
