Mandeep Singh is the Co-founder of Trouva, the online destination for unique products from the best independent boutiques around the world. Is one of the fastest growing companies in Europe (Top 40, FT 1,000 2020) and has been recognised as one of the UK’s most exciting high-growth startups (debuting at no.3 on the Startups 100 Index 2019). To date, the business has raised ~$36 million from world leading investors.
It enables customers to discover +200,000 distinctive, hard-to-find products from more than 900 independent boutiques across Europe, in the likes of Paris, Copenhagen, Berlin, Barcelona (and many more!). The curated marketplace connects is powered by its proprietary software platform for bricks-and-mortar shops which handles everything from inventory management through to logistics.
Mandeep was selected for the “Top 100 Asian Stars in UK Tech” list in both 2019 and 2018. Along with his Co-founder Alex Loizou, he featured on the prestigious Retail 100, celebrating the industry’s most influential leaders who are transforming retail for the better. Singh was also selected for the Sunday Times’ prestigious Maserati 100 list in 2018, recognized as an innovative entrepreneur in the evolving retail and tech landscape. He is a Forbes contributor and has been interviewed about the future of retail by the likes of BBC News, TechCrunch Management Today and The Sunday Times.
Mandeep started out developing websites as a teenager, setting up his first “start-up” (a web design business) when he was 15. With a degree in Natural Sciences & Management from Cambridge, he then became a strategy consultant at OC&C, advising the likes of Arcadia Group, DFS and Asda Walmart amongst others. It was here that Mandeep first saw the impact that online was having on offline retail. Following that, he was an investor at BC Partners, one of Europe’s largest Private Equity funds. In his spare time, Mandeep is an Angel investor in businesses such as ADAY and Urban Jungle Insurance, an Ambassador for BrightMentors and Chair of the Cambridge University young alumni.
