Mustafa Khanwala
Mustafa Khanwala is Founder & CEO of MishiPay which he founded in 2015. It now works with some of the largest retailers in Europe including Eroski and Lagardere and has raised funding of over £5.5m. Mustafa is a Mechatronic Engineer who has previously worked in and led projects with companies such as Porsche, National Instruments, Barclays and TATA and has a proven track record in successful innovation. He has sales experience through working in his family business and starting a food delivery venture in Manchester in 2011. Mustafa built the first MishiPay prototype himself, enabling shoppers to use their own mobile to scan and pay for their shopping so they no longer need to wait in a queue. He has since led the growth of the business to a headcount of 38 and total funding of over £5.5m. MishiPay is used by some of Europe's largest retailers including Eroski, Decathlon, Lagardere and Compass Group.
Mustafa holds Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering from The University of Manchester and an MSc degree in Engineering with Finance from University College London. He has won the UCL ‘Bright Ideas’ award and in 2019 was named in the prestigious Forbes ‘30 Under 30’ list.
