Ning Li was in his mid twenties, working as an investment banker, when he had an epiphany about buying a sofa that led him to create Made.com, a London based online designer furniture retailer. Founded in 2010, with £2.5 million in funding and support from Brent Hoberman, Marc Simoncini, John Hunt and ProFounders Capital, Made.com is now present in 6 European countries: UK, France, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium and Germany and employs over 200 staff in the group. In July 2015 Made.com raised $60m (£38m) in new growth capital from Partech Ventures and Fidelity Growth Partners to accelerate its expansion into Europe. Ning has a Masters in Science, Majeure Entrepreneurs from HEC, Paris and previously set up MyFab.com in the decor & gadget category which was partially sold to Pinault Printemps Redoute (now Kering), a leading global retail/luxury group in 2009.
