Yi Xu is Founder at City Sail, an artificial intelligence tech company that extracts facial expression from video profiles to detect characteristics traits, including passion, confidence, honesty levels. Its pilot centres are using the technology for recruitment, employee behaviour, customer behaviour, insurance claims honesty and online GP consultation applications. The business believes its technology will shift the formation and defining of society’s wealth to be tremendously more focused on emotional intelligence and characteristics like empathy, the core of human species intelligence’s difference from machine intelligence. City Sail was named as one of the 50 Most Disruptive UK Companies 2017 by Real Business magazine.

Yi is a former investment banker who worked for Credit Suisse in London from 2012 - 2015 and US-based Dominick & Dominick from 2008 - 2010. She has also been a TV presenter for the Shanghai Media Group. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Université Jean Moulin, Lyon, and an MBA from Insead.
