Zeena Qureshi
Zeena Qureshi is the co-founder and CEO of Sonantic, a UK-based deeptech startup that creates the world's most human realistic AI-powered speech software which was acquired by Spotify in 2022, where Zeena now works as a Product Director. Prior to the acquisition, the company's audio platform was utilised by top-tier film and AAA gaming studios worldwide, thanks to its ability to accelerate production timelines, amplify creative processes and significantly reduce costs. As CEO, Zeena oversaw business development, product management, client relationships, investor relations and global marketing initiatives. Sonantic was established in 2018 when Zeena met co-founder John Flynn while they were both enrolled in the Entrepreneur First incubator program in London. At that time, Zeena brought a decade of business experience in the startup world. Simultaneously, Zeena spent nine years working part-time as an applied behavioural analysis therapist, working with nonverbal Autistic children to help them communicate. Through this training, Zeena developed a keen understanding of the human voice and the importance of factors like pitch, breath and cadence. Zeena's passion for language therapy was complemented by Flynn's background as a speech researcher working in the movie industry on post-production dialogue. Since then, the company has raised $3.5 million from investors including AME Cloud Ventures, EQT Ventures and Krafton Ventures, and has been featured in TechCrunch, Wired, VentureBeat, Deadline and The Times, among others.
