Barclays ‘New Frontiers’ 2019 conference

Barclays hosted its sixth ‘New Frontiers conference, focussing on transforming lives and industries, on Monday 4th November 2019 at The Intercontinental Hotel, London. In today’s increasingly digital world the relationship between technology and society has never been more important – informing the basis of government and influencing global populations. New Frontiers brought key decision makers and innovators and create an open forum to discuss the key ethical and industry specific issues that must be addressed in order to embrace the deployment of new technology. Keynote speakers included Keith Block, co-Chief Executive Officer, Salesforce and Eileen Burbidge MBE, Partner at Passion Capital, as well as Ashok Vaswani, Global Head of Consumer Banking and Payments; Jes Staley, Group Chief Executive Officer and Nigel Higgins, Chairman, at Barclays, among others.

The conference was split into two stages focusing on how technology is transforming lives and society and also its impact on industries and markets. The sessions did a deep dive into the industries that are ripe for disruption and how technology is impacting the way businesses think and invest daily.
