Echo, a healthcare platform; Trik, 3D modelling software and Kraydel a social care solution for the elderly were the three tech startups to showcase at the Top 100 Asian Stars in UK Tech 2018 list launch on Monday 4th June 2018.

Echo, a healthcare platform; Trik, 3D modelling software and Kraydel a social care solution for the elderly were the three tech startups to showcase at the Top 100 Asian Stars in UK Tech 2018 list launch on Monday 4th June 2018. Dr Sai Lakshmi, Co-Founder & CEO of Echo explained how the app helps users order their prescription medicines via their GP; Pae Natiwali, the Founder & CEO of Gettrik outlined how Trik, helps large enterprises manage their inspection data and Dr Amer Fasihi demonstrated how Kraydel, a set-top box developed by his company Caros Connect, aids the elderly with an easy to use two way monitoring and communication tool run via the television. Following each pitch was a brief Q&A session with guests, including investors, entrepreneurs and technologists, who were able to quiz the tech entrepreneurs on their strategy and growth plans. The Tech Showcase was moderated by Varun Bhanot, Head of Business Development at Hubble.

Speaker Biographies

Sai Lakshmi
Co-Founder & CEO – Echo

Sai LakshmiDr Sai Lakshmi is the Co-Founder & CEO of healthcare startup Echo. The startup, which has been backed with £9.2 million by White Star Capital, MMC Ventures LocalGlobe and Global Founders Capital, has built an app that aims to help patients on long-term medication to manage their prescriptions. Echo is a mobile app that helps users order their prescription medicines via their GP and have them delivered to their door. Sai worked as a business development manager at Apple for three years, and has also worked at Arma Partners and Bain & Company. He has a DPhil in Engineering Science from the University of Oxford, as well as a Masters in Engineering from Imperial College, London.

 


Pae Natwilai
Founder & CEO – GetTrik

Pae NatwilaiPae Natwilai is the Founder and CEO of Gettrik. One of its most well-known software is Trik, a drone mapping and 3D reporting software for structural inspection. Trik turns photos into a 3D model and maps photos, drawings and other asset information onto the 3D model. It enables engineers to use the 3D model as a file directory to search for data, make annotations and compare changes through time in 3D. Trik changes the way large insurance, engineering and construction enterprises manage their inspection data and enables a more accurate and cost efficient way to monitor assets.

Pae is well recognised for her innovation in the industry and was entrusted by the UK government to implement her technology for the UK infrastructure inspection. She is currently running her company in the UK under Tier 1 Exceptional Talent Visa, and she was recently listed as one of the Forbes 30 under 30, 2018. Pae holds a double Master’s degree in Global Innovation Design from the Royal College of Art and Imperial College, London and she used to work as a Project Manager and Inspection & Maintenance Engineer at Thailand’s National oil and gas company prior to arriving in London.

Amer Fasihi
Founder, Caros Connect

Amer Fasihi is a healthcare and life sciences change agent, with global commercial experience in Pharmaceuticals, Data Services, Artificial Intelligence and Strategy Consulting. He is the Founder of Caros Connect, a person-centered healthcare system that helps people monitor and manage their health better. Its first offering is the Health Sense Kit which has three bluetooth devices (blood pressure monitor, digital scales, activity band) all integrated within the Caros app which available for free on iOS and Android.

Amer started his career at Data Monitor, followed by various roles at GSK before leaving to join IMS Health and IBM Global Services where he worked for nearly 6 years, developing the company’s remote patient monitoring platform. Amer holds a BSc in Physics and an MSc in Biotechnology from Imperial College, London and completed his PhD in Biosensor Diagnostics ar Cranfield University.

About Kraydel

Kraydel is a first-of-a-kind system that maintains independence, wellbeing and social engagement for the elderly. It has been designed around the elderly, for them, and those that care for them. It consists of a hub (with a camera) that clips to the top of the TV, and a three button remote control that together convert the TV into the primary communication portal capable of making and receiving video calls. The hub also has sensors for light, heat, motion and sound, that monitor the wellbeing of the elder making it easy to use and unobtrusive. It should be available to buy from early 2019.

Varun Bhanot is part of the founding team of venture-backed tech startup, Hubble. He previously studied at the LSE and did a postgraduate in technology entrepreneurship at Cambridge University.
