London’s Tech Manifesto 2021 launched
On 20th April 2021, Tech London Advocates & Global Tech Advocates along with HERE EAST, Centre for London, techUK, London First and Plexal hosted a ‘London’s Tech Manifesto’ panel featuring the candidates running for Mayor of London: Luisa Porritt (LibDem), Sadiq Khan (Labour), Shaun Bailey (Cons) and Sian Berry (Green). The event follows the publication of the manifesto, by Tech London Advocates, Here East, Tech UK and Centre for London, which outlines 12 policy recommendations for the next mayor to support the tech industry.
“For London to continue as one of the world’s leading tech hubs, the mayor will have a unique role by working with central government and the private sector to ensure the necessary infrastructure, regulatory and legislative environment is in place for tech businesses to flourish. With more stability on the horizon, the opportunity in front of London tech and UK tech is significant – we must grab it with both hands,” said Russ Shaw CBE, Founder of Tech London Advocates & Global Tech Advocates, in an article by Lis Evenstad in ComputerWeekly magazine.
